In 2026, the money from ANPIS for the state child allowance, the child-raising allowance and the return-to-work incentive arrives on the same calendar: by card around the 8th and by postal order around the 10th, for the previous month’s entitlements. It’s not a date fixed by law, but ANPIS’s monthly practice. When the usual date falls on a weekend, the card payment is made earlier, not later. Disability payments have a separate, later calendar.

Below you’ll find the 2026 pattern, what to do when the date is a weekend, and where to check the exact day for the current month.

When the money arrives: the 2026 pattern

Every month in 2026, ANPIS (through the county AJPIS agencies) has paid on this pattern:

  • By card: around the 8th of the month.
  • By postal order: starting on the 10th.
  • It’s for the previous month’s entitlements (for example, June’s money is paid in July).

Very important: the state child allowance, the child-raising allowance and the return-to-work incentive are paid together, on the same calendar — not on different days.

It’s not a date guaranteed by law

The 8th / 10th is not written into law as a fixed date. Law no. 61/1993 (allowance), Government Decision no. 577/2008 (norms) and Emergency Ordinance no. 111/2010 (allowance) only set the payment method (account/card or postal order), not a specific day.

ANPIS calls the 8th the “usual payment day” — it’s an administrative practice, reconfirmed each month by a press release. Don’t count on a legal guarantee of the date; check the monthly announcement.

What happens when the date is a weekend

This is easy to get the wrong way round. When the usual payment day falls on a non-working day, ANPIS brings forward the card payment to the last working day before it — it does not postpone it.

A real example from 2026: 8 February 2026 was a Sunday, so the card payment was made on Friday, 6 February. So when the 8th falls on a weekend, expect the money earlier, not later.

Note: disability payments have a different calendar

Don’t confuse the “children’s money” calendar with the one for disability entitlements, which are paid later in the month: by card around the 14th–15th and by post from around the 18th–20th.

Other social benefits (minimum inclusion income, placement allowance, etc.) arrive even later, around the 19th–20th.

Where to check the exact day

On the AJPIS Cluj website there are two types of page, easy to confuse:

  • The “Noutăți” / “Comunicate de presă” (News / Press releases) feed — this is where the payment date for the current month is announced a few days ahead. This is the one to check.
  • The “Payments made by AJPIS” archive — it’s retrospective, with PDFs of amounts already paid; it does not contain a calendar of future dates.

For the amounts themselves, see our guides to the state allowance 2026, the child-raising allowance and the return-to-work incentive. How the allowance is calculated is in our dedicated guide on calculating the allowance.
